As we are located on the banks of the River Derwent why not take advantage at this opportunity by engaging in a spot of fishing?
Derwent Angling Association (DAA) are based in the beautiful Derwent Valley on the Border of Northumberland and Durham and have 15 miles of fly fishing on the River Derwent, providing good stocks of brown trout and grayling.
They provide day tickets at a cost of £6 and are available from Allensford Caravan park, Hamsterly Colliery Post Office, Frasers Angling in Gateshead, and AMH Angling Ltd in Front Street Annfield Plain.
In order to be able to fish you must have an Environment Agency rod license. You can buy your rod license online directly from the Environment Agency, or from any Post Office.
